The
Boohers make their home in northeast Tennessee from
an area rich in bluegrass, old time and folk music heritage. The band was formed
in 2000 with Gary and Lora Booher and their two sons, Jamey and Joseph. They bring
to stage their family-tight harmony, an entertaining show and a true love of the
music they perform.
Grandma's
Songs is their first Lonesome Day Records project and was released
in May 2005. The album was recorded at Tom T. and Dixie's Hall's studio in Franklin,
Tennessee and was engineered by Troy Engle.
Band
members on the album include: Lora Booher (vocals, guitar); Gary Booher (banjo,
guitar and vocals); Joseph Booher (mandolin and vocals); and Jamey Booher (bass
and vocals). Guest musicians on the project include Ron Block (lead guitar on
"Linville Train") and Troy Engle (fiddle). The title cut, Grandma's Songs
was written by Tom T. and Dixie Hall. The Halls also wrote several more
songs on the album. The CD also includes original songs by Becky Buller, Ron Block,
Mark Brinkman and many more.
