Blue Moon Rising’s “On the Rise” Album Named One of
CMT.com’s Top 10 Favorite Bluegrass Albums of 2005

Nashville, TN – January 2, 2006 - CMT.com has named Lonesome Day Records' recording artist, Blue Moon Rising's “On The Rise” as one of it's Top 10 picks for best bluegrass albums of 2005!

With 2005 being a banner year for bluegrass albums releases, it's an honor for this project to be in this esteemed Top 10 list with IBMA award winners Doyle Lawson and Larry Sparks.   Blue Moon Rising also joins highly respected artists such as Clay Jones and Jim Mills on the list.

 “On the Rise” debuted at #14 on the Billboard Bluegrass Retail Sales Chart earlier this year and has continuously charted on other album charts including the Roots Music Report.  North Carolina’s radio station, WNCW gave the album numerous honors including Top 100 Albums of 2005 (#68) and Top 50 Bluegrass Albums (#11).  Radio personality, Dennis Jones chose the CD at #6 for his Staff Picks for the Top 10 Bluegrass Albums of the year. The single “This Old Martin Box” is currently on Bluegrass Unlimited Magazine’s Top 30 Single Chart (January 06).   Various singles from this album are in continuous rotation on Bluegrass, Americana, Roots, and Country radio stations around the world, including XM and Sirius Satellite radio.  Earlier this month, Sirius aired a full-length interview with the band by radio personality Terry Herd.  Sirius will also broadcast their upcoming performance from the world-famous Station Inn in Nashville, Tennessee on February 16, 2006.

Craig Shelburne of CMT.com states, "While still a relatively new band on the scene, the musicians in the Southern-based Blue Moon Rising are definitely headed in the right direction. The songs -- catchy and mostly original -- are neither contrived nor too contemporary. Blue Moon Rising’s 2006 tour schedule includes performances at some of the most well-known festivals in the world including Bean Blossom’s Hall of Fame & Uncle Pen Days (IN), Gettysburg Bluegrass Festival (PA), River of Music Party (KY), Poppy Mountain Bluegrass Festival (KY), Barnes Family Bluegrass Festival (IN), Strawberry Park Bluegrass Festival (CT), and WDVX Radio’s Camperfest, (TN) to name a few.  The band will also perform at many other special events and concerts including the two-day concert event at Bismarck State College Auditorium and Washburn High School (ND); Renfro Valley Entertainment Center (KY); BK Productions Concert (WI) Grand Vista Hotel (TN) and many more. 

This extremely talented band includes outstanding lead vocals by Keith Garrett (mandolin) and Chris West (guitar).  Band members, Justin Jenkins (banjo) and Randy Massengill (guitar), Justin Moses (fiddle and Dobro) also provide their vocal talents along with the strong bass by Tim Tipton.
